FAA Foreign License Verification
FAA foreign pilot verification before you travel
If you are applying based on a foreign license under 14 CFR §61.75 or the related pathways listed below, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) must verify your foreign license and medical before you apply for an FAA certificate. Processing of FAA Form AC 8060-71 takes approximately 45 to 90 days.
Do not schedule any travel and check rides, etc. until a valid Verification Letter is received from Airmen Certification Branch.

Our examiner (enrolled students)
For students enrolled in a GCAS course, our Foreign Pilot Examiner may be able to issue an FAA airman certificate under 14 CFR §61.75 as part of training. For other certificate types, you complete your application with the FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) you list in Block 13 (FSDO Selection) of Form AC 8060-71. As soon as you receive the Verification Letter, send us a copy.
