Airbus A-320 Recurrent Training
Objective
Recurrent training re-establishes currency and proficiency under 14 CFR §61.58 on the Airbus A-320, with an optional examiner proficiency check.
This course uses a Level D simulator for all training and checking.
License requirements
You need at a minimum an unrestricted FAA airman certificate to start:
- Private or Commercial Pilot
- Airplane Multi-engine Land
- Instrument Airplane
- Unrestricted A-320 type rating
Curricula summary
- 40 hours of computer-based aircraft systems training
- 8 hours of instructor-led instruction (remote option available) with systems integration training
- 5 hours of Level D full flight simulator training
- Proficiency check in a Level D full flight simulator with a Gulf Coast Aeronautical Services examiner (if requested)
14 CFR §61.58 regulatory excerpt
§61.58(i) states that within the preceding 12 calendar months a pilot-in-command proficiency check must be completed in an aircraft that is type certificated for more than one required pilot flight crewmember. A grace month is given within which to complete the 12-month proficiency check requirement. If a pilot takes the pilot-in-command proficiency check in the calendar month before or the calendar month after the month in which it is due, the pilot is considered to have taken it in the month in which it was due for the purpose of computing when the next pilot-in-command §61.58 proficiency check is due.

Classes can be scheduled at any time. Let us know your availability and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. If you already have a sim partner, let us know when you would like to schedule training.
Please give us 30 to 45 days of notice when you can. Full flight simulator time is in high demand and can be hard to schedule on short notice.
