License requirements
You need an unrestricted FAA certificate at ATP, Commercial, or Private level with Airplane Multi-engine Land and a B-737 type rating, plus Instrument Airplane.
PIC limitation note
Note: Airman's Certificate must not have “ The B-737 is subject to PIC limitations” for PC; Recurrent may be accomplished but 61.58 PC will not be accomplished by examiner if that limitation present.
61.58 timing
TITLE 14CFR REFERENCE §61.58(i) grace month
Summary: §61.58 checks are tracked in 12 calendar months, with a grace month provision.
