DC-10 Flight Engineer's Cockpit Preparation
Place your cursor on the panel make the proper selection

ANY X-FEED KNOB .............................................................................................. OPEN
Observe proper operation of the X-FEED DISAGREE light. This confirms that the
fueling panel door is closed and the power switch is off
ALL X-FEED KNOBS ............................................................................................ CLOSE
X-FEED DISAGREE LIGHTS .................................................................................... OFF

Observe that all TEMP indicators indicate below the yellow band.
Observe that no hydraulic quantity loss has occurred.
Move the 1-3 and 2-3 PUMP switches from ARM to OFF and observe Hydraulic
System No.1 and No.2 pressure drop to zero.
Observe that all TEMP HI lights are off and the PRESS LO lights are on.
Place AUX PUMP 1 switch and AUX PUMP 2 switch momentarily to STOP and
observe that the No.3 HYD PRESS indicator drops to zero and that the AUX HYD
PUMP 1 ON, AUX HYD PUMP 2 ON, and AUX HYD PUMPS ON lights are off.

If external power is available, do not start APU until it is required. If APU is running, do not shut down if it will be required within 45 minutes.
CAUTION: DO NOT SWITCH ELECTRICAL POWER SOURCES (I.E., EXT TO APU) DURING FUELING OPERATIONS. FUELING NOT IN PROGRESS IS INDICATED BY NORMAL OPERATION OF ANY CROSS FEED VALVE.
